About
the layout
The
font: Verdana is often a good choice with small fonts
(12 or under) it's easy to read and looks professional. However
at bigger font sizes it just looks...wrong, notice the title above.
Navigation:
Why break a tradition when it works, almost every site on the
internet has the navigation on the left, so users are used to
it. Moving it could cause the user to be "lost". That
said as more websites become covering various activities a "main"
navigation and "sub-section" navigation bar appears
somewhere else.
Logo/Banner:
The top will always be shown first so company title/logo should
appear here so the user knows what the website it for. The banner
can also be used for advertisement, out of the way from text,
but also easy to see so people will pay to advertise on the site.
Colours:
This was the hardest part, tried to make it all match, started
with blue and found it hard to find three blues that fit well
and don't appear "primary colour". Still, bit bland
- graphics could solve that thou.
Text
placement: Its hard to show without any real content
to place (images etc) but these are in small sentences and also
each section is "singular" and the section begins in
bold - could of used bullet points.
